THE KINGS AND QUEENS OF ENGLAND 1066-1935 - JOHN PLAYER & SONS CIGARETTE CARDS ALBUM C.1935-40
"An interesting collection of John Player & Sons cigarette cards presented in an album. Titled the Kings and Queens of England 1066-1935, this set is complete with all 50 cards mounted in the official presentation album originally sold for one penny. We would date the set c.1935-40. The designs of the individual Kings and Queens portrait cards are based on famous credited royal portraits and photographs for the later royals from Queen Victoria onward. Each card is accompanied by an informative short background biography - just the job for those awkward pub quiz questions, "Who wants to be a Millionaire?" and "Mastermind"! A fun collectable for card collectors and history buffs - check out our zoom image slide show and enjoy!" Antiques Expert Hamilton Bear.
