BRITISH ART POTTERY ART DECO PERIOD STUDIO
POTTERY FOOTED VASE C.1920-35
stylish superior hand crafted Upchurch art pottery vase. An early piece
dating from the art deco production period circa 1920-35.
Wonderful hand crafted studio pottery shape achieved by the
pottery - distinctive footed brush
pot form with contrasting highly effective running glaze
decoration. The silky smooth beige ribbed pottery body is reminiscent of
stoneware. One of the best examples we have seen in the Upchurch art
Antiques Expert Hamilton Bear.
height 148 mm max.
Upchurch incised into base as illustrated.
An excellent piece in great shape for display with no damage chips,
cracks and no restoration. Glaze is
very well adhered to the pot, for art pottery - with no flaking.
A wonderful example.
