EWENNY WELSH ART POTTERY HAND THROWN STUDIO POTTERY VASE WITH UNIQUE GLAZE EFFECT  -  EARLY 20TH CENTURY
"An unusual and particularly attractive Ewenny pottery studio vase, hand thrown with a body akin to stoneware and a striking glaze effect finish in green which is rarely seen in our experience. Ewenny pottery South Wales dates from the early 19th century. Within fifty years it became the major art pottery of Wales. Pieces are difficult to date exactly: standard shapes and marks have been in production for long periods into the 20th century. Many mottled glaze and running-glaze effect Ewenny Art Pottery vases were produced. Every glaze effect piece is effectively unique." Antiques Expert Hamilton Bear.
