SOMMERSO ART GLASS DUCK FIGURE WITH ORIGINAL
FOIL LABEL C.1960-70
"A collectable Murano
Venetian art glass hand crafted figure. A distinctive
Sommerso cased glass duck model that is full of character.
Note the stylized shape and beautiful turquoise colouring with
delicate aventurine gold hints to the bill and webbed feet. The
piece retains an original Murano glass Italy foil label and may
have been made by Veneni (see below). It dates between 1960

Marks: The surviving
Murano glass foil label to base is difficult to interpret fully as
it is rubbed (as illustrated). It reads either "Genuine? Venetian"
or perhaps "Veneni?" and below "Made in Murano Italy".
Condition: Excellent
with no chips, cracks or restoration and great decorative/display
qualities. There is a small area of roughness to the flat of the
base at the back which is a product of manufacture.
