HIGHLY
DECORATIVE PARIS PORCELAIN, 'WORCESTER'
STYLE MASK JUG - PROBABLY MADE BY SAMSON OF
PARIS C.1880-1900
An attractive, colourful,
hand painted French Paris porcelain hard paste mask pitcher jug - most probably made at the Samson
of Paris porcelain works circa 1880-1900. This wonderful mask jug
design is based on an 18th century Worcester piece in shape and
decoration and is made in the earlier Dr Wall Worcester style -
including the underglaze Worcester square mark which was
added when made.
These
French porcelain Victorian pieces are highly decorative like this
example and considered antiques themselves with genuine age value and
desirability. Jugs like this are rarely found! A lovely example. An
original Worcester piece of this quality would cost in the region of
£2000GBP or more... Enjoy!
