CAUGHLEY
PORCELAIN FINE COFFEE CUP CHAMBERLAIN
WORCESTER DECORATED, GILDED DOTS PATTERN
C.1780-85
"A delightful elegant
little gem of Caughley English porcelain. This finely potted
Caughley coffee cup was produced around the 1780s at Thomas
Turner's Caughley Salopian Porcelain Factory, Broseley,
Shropshire. Most probably it was decorated by the Chamberlain
Worcester decorating establishment with the Gilded Dots
pattern. This piece has an underglaze blue s-mark and an
underglaze blue painted rim that has been gilded over as part of
the gilded decoration. A super example of 18th century English
porcelain for the discerning coffee cup and coffee can
collector."Antiques Expert Hamilton
