The jug is skillfully hand modeled and supported by a particularly fine aesthetic style incised and coloured decoration of meadow flowers patterning. All Martin Brothers wares are scare and highly prized as among the best Victorian and Edwardian British art pottery. References: The Martin Brothers art pottery production at Southall dates from 1877-1914 when the pottery closed. Of the brothers Martin - Robert Wallace Martin (RWM) was the modeler; Walter Frazer Martin (WFM) the thrower; Edwin Bruce Martin (EBM) the principal decorator. There would be interchange and overlap of activities in the best tradition of artist potters. The fourth brother Charles Martin ran a gallery retail outlet in High Holborn London where the art wares were sold. Examples of Martin Brothers wares are illustrated in all the major works on British art pottery.

Marks: fully marked to base as illustrated. Piece is also numbered inside the spout.
Condition: An excellent piece in great shape for display with no damages or restoration.
