FINEST REGENCY PORCELAIN LANDSCAPE DISH ON SWANSEA PORCELAIN ATTRIBUTED TO WILLIAM BILLINGSLEY C.1817

"A rare and attractive hand painted Swansea porcelain plate with flat gilt edge line circa 1817. Landscape painting on Swansea porcelain is very rare and this is one of the finest examples of landscape painting on Regency ceramics we have seen. It is a delight, a super piece and a great example of finest Swansea Welsh ceramics for your choice china cabinet display. This piece has been attributed to the hand of William Billingsley and as such must rank among the best surviving examples of his decorative landscape work. Similar in style and composition to his scenic work on Pinxton teawares but more considered and less hurried with more precision and detail. Antique ceramics of this quality - from the inspirational leading light among the talented and highly collectable group of Swansea ceramic artists - are rarely found outside of museum collections. A highly desirable acquisition for the discerning collector and connoisseur of finest quality antique porcelain." Antiques Expert Hamilton Bear.
